Anyone wishing to play an Elf who has turned away from the light should discuss it with the GM. Drûn Elves originate from White Elf or Mist Elf lines but carry a distinct history as outcasts.

Drûn Elves often try to conceal their origin so that others do not immediately recognise them as outcasts.

A Drûn Elf is not automatically evil because of a past crime. They may try to serve good, live neutrally, or turn toward darkness—as long as religion and class are valid in the canonical combination.

The Rune of Torment, also called the Mark of Shame, is burned onto a Drûn Elf’s shoulder when they are cast out for a serious offence. This magical sign represents the burden they carry from then on.

With the Mark, a Drûn Elf loses the ordinary immortality of their Elven origin. They may still outlive many human generations, but one day their light will fade.

If a Drûn Elf is recognised by White Elves or Mist Elves through the rune, old tradition places them in mortal danger. Many outcasts therefore keep the Mark hidden and wander the forests alone.

Drûn Elves are often highly adaptable. Mechanically, however, only the canonical species-class combinations apply. Their valid regular classes are Warrior, Shaman, Forest Hunter, Druid, Shadow Runner, Priest, Mage, Necromancer, and Witch Beast.

Old rumours even speak of “black paladins.” This remains lore only: the regular Knight of Light class is not valid for Drûn Elves in RARE Canon v1.0.
