The original homeland of the people of the south is the Southland beyond the Desert of Madness, on the edge of the barren steppe north of the Forgotten Coast. Although the desert is difficult to cross or bypass, members of the Southern People are often encountered throughout Oldôr. They travel the continent in search of adventure, gold, and rich spoils.
Southerners are relatively small and slight but extremely agile, usually with darker skin and often black hair. They are said to be temperamental, moody, unreliable, and audacious, but also charming. They fear little—perhaps except the possibility that one day there might be no adventures or treasures left.
Adventure, a large mug of ale, and the promise of rich loot are therefore powerful motivators.
Although their build cannot match the imposing Northerners, Southerners have developed a strong affinity for fighting. They move with great Dexterity and fiery enthusiasm.
They do not shy away from magic either. Canonically, the Southern People can follow the magic-using classes Shaman, Druid, and Witch Beast. They can also become Forest Hunters or Shadow Runners.
Many also rely on traditional skills such as sleight of hand, forgery, trade, and enthusiastic celebration. Merchants and entertainers remain fitting worldly professions even though they are not separate RARE character classes.
Mechanically, the valid regular classes for the Southern People are Shaman, Forest Hunter, Druid, Shadow Runner, and Witch Beast. Minstrel and Priest are not among the classes available to the Southern People.
Permitted religions follow from the relevant canonical class combination.
