The homeland of the Northerners—proud warriors and outstanding seafarers—is the harsh and inhospitable Northland beyond the Weatherfront, from the Pass of the Dead Winds to the Iron Mountains, among the coldest and wildest landscapes of Oldôr.

These imposing humans radiate tremendous authority. Yet the people of the north rarely travel into southern lands except on raids or expeditions. They regard the barren high north, wilderness, and rough seas as their true home.

The few Northerners who live farther south are often outcasts, young adventurers, or refugees from blood feuds and clan conflicts who try to earn a living through adventure.

The men and women of the north are giants among humans. Their size and strength are legendary, as are their endurance and courage when fighting for causes that appear hopeless.

The hard life of the inhospitable north and the constant struggle against weather and hostile clans have made them expert survivors with keen instincts and a strong sense of direction. They learn to swim early and also become familiar with alcohol at a young age.

Only a few Northerners are considered especially clever or wise. Such “Blessed” individuals often rise to become clan leaders—through intelligence, intrigue, conspiracy, or raw force.

Many members of the Northern People distrust magic and otherworldly powers and are strongly superstitious. Canonically, their regular class options are Warrior, Druid, and Priest; other classes are not part of their valid species-class mapping.

Some also turn to peaceful crafts such as smithing and produce goods whose quality is praised across the continent. Permitted religions follow from the relevant canonical class combination.
