Lady of Darkness and Daughter of Tar’madân
Shâedar is the daughter of Tar’madân, Father of Chaos, and is filled with his spirit of madness. Cold and pale, her constellation stands in the sky; once each month it disappears, only to return from the eternal shadows. Thus Shâedar became a symbol of evil that always returns. Even when the powers of darkness seem defeated and banished, their seed is believed never to be wholly destroyed.
She rests in secret, in the darkest corners of the world, until she has been forgotten. When her time comes, the old accounts say, her brood rises from the shadows once more.
Like Shâedar herself, her followers are surrounded by secrets. Little is known of their gatherings and rituals. Dark rumours of blood sacrifices, ritual murders, and invocations of otherworldly beings circulate throughout the land.
These rumours have given rise to many tales of horror about the wickedness of this religious community.
Most beings of the land fear their power. Few dare entrust themselves to the Lady of Darkness; those who do describe a world in which the boundaries of reality seem to blur—a world of darkness, hidden desires, and fantasies.
