Trolls live in small family groups or clans, usually in caves or in inaccessible places in the mountains. They are large and generally muscular, and they paint their bodies and wear talismans in the belief that these give them an advantage over their enemies. Trolls usually keep to themselves and are rarely seen. They are strongly tied to their territory and defend it when they feel threatened. Although their behavior and appearance may seem primitive, they should not be underestimated. Some have been observed casting simple elemental spells. One should therefore be careful not to judge them too quickly; they may be one of the few peoples to have preserved much of their original way of life.
