Lord of the Mountains and Father of Life

Vergâs is the lord of the mountains and father of all life, protector of those who share his love for the wild places of Oldôr. The mountains, the wind, precious ores, and gemstones are attributed to him. His spirit is said to watch over mountains and plains and to guard them against unworthy desecration.

Not every work of Vergâs remained as flawless as the creations of the earliest days. When Tar’madân brought calamity upon the world in the First Age, Vergâs is said to have resorted to cunning and deception himself in order to save the world from eternal darkness.

Thus he became the giver of fire and lord of the forge. In a dark hour he gave the peoples of Oldôr knowledge of the power of metals, taught them the arts of war, and commanded them to fight for their freedom.

His followers still live by this philosophy. They have renounced evil and devote their lives to good, yet they are willing to take paths that not every servant of the light would choose.
