The endless wilderness, vast forests, and rugged mountains of Oldôr are the home of the Forest Hunters. They rarely leave these places because they find everything they need for a simple life there and see themselves as part of the cycle of decay and renewal. They treasure their freedom in this boundless land.
Their love belongs to nature. The Forest Hunter code demands that they be one with Mother Nature, take only what is needed for life, respect plants and animals, and guard the forest against those who would harm its inhabitants.
Canonically, White Elves, Mist Elves, Drûn Elves, Half-Elves, Mitmaar Humans, the Southern People, Hobbits, and Kender can become Forest Hunters. The Northern People are not among the species eligible for Forest Hunter. Drûn Elves, Mitmaar Humans, and Kender are valid combinations.
Many Forest Hunters travel the lands, watch over nature, and hunt those who bring chaos and destruction into sacred forests. Others join adventuring groups and help their companions find their way through difficult terrain.
They know paths handed down from one Forest Hunter to another across generations. Years in the wilderness make them masters of survival, familiar with plants and animals and highly alert to danger and tracks.
Forest Hunters despise needless slaughter and bloodshed. Although they use their weapons—often bow and sword—with great skill, they generally fight only when threatened or when someone violates nature.
For protection they prefer light leather armour and green or brown clothing that does not restrict movement and helps them blend into their surroundings.
Combined with their knowledge of the woods, this allows them to move silently through undergrowth, climb trees, and hide in foliage.
