The physical values determine stamina, attack values, initiative, hit points and other combat-related values that are important to the character.

Strength | Str

Strength is one of the attributes with a major influence on combat values and the battle sheet.

It contributes to Attack and Defence values and also affects the character’s hit points and stamina.

Strength can also matter greatly outside combat, for example when breaking open doors or chests, moving rusted levers and stone slabs, or saving a companion.

Such situations can often be solved through careful planning as well; sometimes success depends on a different suitable check, such as Dexterity for picking locks.

Speed | Spe

Speed also has a major influence on combat-related values.

Together with Strength and Dexterity it contributes to Attack and Defence values. It also affects the combat movement values for walking and running and contributes to Reaction.

Outside combat, Speed can describe how quickly a character reacts to unforeseen events or performs certain actions.

It is particularly useful for mobile classes such as Shadow Runners or Forest Hunters. Magic-using characters can also benefit from high Speed when they need to keep their distance from enemies.

Dexterity | Dex

Like Strength and Speed, Dexterity contributes significantly to combat-related values.

Dexterity contributes to Attack and Defence values as well as Reaction. Initiative in a combat round is determined as Reaction + 1D10.

Dexterity is especially important for classes such as Forest Hunters and Shadow Runners. It matters for accuracy and many physical skills.

Dexterity is also used for non-combat actions such as pickpocketing, body control, professional tasks and many other activities.

Dexterity is also one of the attributes associated with additional talents.

Constitution | Con

Constitution reflects the character’s physical condition. It can be affected by diseases and poisons.

A high value helps a character remain standing longer during KO checks caused by poisons or harmful effects.

Constitution contributes to stamina and hit points. Front-line characters should therefore avoid neglecting it.

Each time a character dies and is brought back to life, they permanently lose one Constitution point, which can only be regained through a level-up. Characters with Constitution below 5 cannot be resurrected.
